FORGIVING PIPELINE | REDBULL MEDIA HOUSE
Legendary Hawaii surf photographer Jon Mozo passed away while shooting photos in the water at Pipeline — he was 33 years old, while his daughter Amber was only 9. Soon after her father’s passing, Amber picked up a camera and her photographic journey began. We told this story in an award winning short film, Lumiere. Yet amongst all that Amber had become as photographer, she’d yet been able to face the wave that took her dad’s life. Because of our relationship with Amber and the success of Lumiere, Redbull Media House partnered with Reason to document the winter Amber would finally experience what her dad loved. With his own neat connection to Jon, Zak Noyle would take Amber out to the lineup for the first time during the 2018 Volcom Pipe Pro.
